Description
NWL CCG, requires a locally based service in Brent for support to the HIV positive population.
Key services required include:
-HIV Peer Support to the HIV positive population of Brent, representing the users in the development of HIV and AIDS care management strategies.
-Linking users into HIV management services including the HUB.
-Providing support (emotional/advocacy) and signposting to help service users resolve social, legal and welfare rights issues such as immigration, housing etc.
-Work in close and active partnership with the HIV Co-ordinator of Brent Community Services (BCS) to ensure effective and integrated service delivery and development.
-Deliver a Peer Support Group for HIV positive people in Brent that will link into NHS HIV services and provide support and referrals into other services.
-The Provider will ensure that its Peer Support service helps increase emotional and physical well-being by empowering its members to access to both mainstream and HIV specialist services.
-The Peer Support service should also empower and support its members to influence the development and delivery of HIV services, e.g. participation in service redesign and CCG consultation events.
-The service must be equitable and accessible to all HIV positive Brent residents, providing one-to-one support and must hold regular support groups that members can access.
- The Peer Support Service should enable HIV positive people to provide peer mentoring, education and signposting to their peers. The most important relationship that the Provider will have will be to the BCS HIV Co-ordinator and the HUB at Monks Park, the central point of care access for many HIV positive people.
The CCG currently has a contract in place with Positively UK to provide the above services. The term of this contract is 6 months, 1st October 2021 - 31st March 2022 (value: £25,479.00) during which time, the CCG will assess the needs of the service users and consider how (if relevant) it needs to:
-Secure the needs of the people who use the services
-Improve the quality of the services
-Improve the efficiency in the provision of the services including through the services being provided in an integrated way.
NWL CCG is considering options for making future arrangements for these services beyond 1st April 2022 which may involve looking to tender the opportunity in the future. Any capable provider may come forward by 4th March 2022 to engage with the CCG.
If it is the case that Positively UK is the only provider capable of delivering the services described, then the CCG will look to award a further contract to Positively UK for up to 2 years starting on 1st April 2022.
During 2022, it is anticipated that NWL CCG will be succeeded by an Integrated Care Board (ICB). Any future contract and/or procurement opportunity may therefore be in the name of the ICB.
