Description
Borough Hill is a well-used and important site of interest for Daventry District. The site welcomes visitors daily who use it for both passive and active recreation.
There is currently provision for visitor parking in the form of a car park located on the southern tip of the hill fort, demarked by fence boundaries of post and rail construction.
Daventry District Council has previously invested in surface repairs. Over time through use the surface has suffered continued degradation resulting in an uneven camber, broken bituminous material, exposed surface binding netting and even exposure of some previously buried brickwork. In order to prevent further degradation or vehicle damage the Council are seeking tenders to level and resurface the car park.
Car park pedestrian access gates are located in each of the top two corners of the car park. The scope of works will include the provision of a pedestrian pathway between the access gate nearest the public highway, to run between the gate and the highway.
