Description
This contract shall cover all boiler plant throughout the University Estate. The required service comprises annual cleaning of boilers, cleaning of flue-ways and smoke stacks and servicing of burners, together with an emergency call-out facility for repairs and breakdowns.
All works shall be carried out in strict accordance with the Specification and in compliance with the requirements of the Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998 (GSIUR) as amended, BS6891:2015 and all other relevant current standards.
The required Services shall include the provision of:
a) Initial survey and setting-up of systems
b) Cyclical maintenance
c) General repairs
d) Call-out provision for repairs and breakdowns
e) Upgrades, Replacements and New Installations
f) Records of Work, Test & Inspection Certificates and reports.
Tenderers are required to:
• Be Gas Safe Registered.
• Hold an accredited independent third party certificate of compliance with ISO 45001 (previously BS OHSAS 18001)/ a relevant Safety Schemes in Procurement (SSIP) certificate which includes Construction Contractor, Principal Contractor, and non-Construction as part of the SSIP audit.
• Be a member of the Building Engineering Services Association (or EU Equivalent).
• Confirm that they can be on site within 1 hour of receiving an emergency call-out request.
• Confirm that all engineers who will be involved in delivering the contract have minimum NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant subject and are suitably experienced.
