Description

A contractor is sought to supply and install new electrical infra-red heaters and lights, in the Grade I Listed St Mary's Heritage Center, Gateshead. Tyne & Wear Building Preservation Trust is a small charity that has recently taken on a 99 Lease for the premises and received funding from the Community Renewal Fund to undertake these works.
The project is to undertake the works to replace the current suspend ceiling lights in the central aisle of the church building and former chancel with electric infra-red heaters and LED lighting. All works must be undertaken with full awareness and sensitivity to the Listed status of the building. Attached documents show the proposed layouts and the work is to undertake Phase 1.
The work is programmed to take place February 2025, with all works fully complete by the end of the month. Interested contractors should respond to Bev Robinson bev@twbpt.org.uk with two case studies of similar projects describing how they are relevant to the works required and including references from clients by the 18th December 2024. They should confirm that they have the ability to meet the timescale.
It is envisaged that 6 contractors will be selected to receive the full schedule of works on 20th December 2024 with a return date of 1pm on the 16th January 2025. The objective is to start work on the 18th February 2025.
