Description

In order to conduct field work in a controlled environment and safe manner, PHE require a tent facility to be deployed concurrently with the team. This tent could serve as a base for all field laboratory work as well as a support unit for the field epidemiology members of the team. The footprint of usable space should be akin to that of the container laboratory (as similar kit and numbers of operators will be used). With this in mind:

Standard ISO shipping containers are 8ft (2.43m) wide, 8.5ft (2.59m) high and come in two lengths; 20ft (6.06m) and 40ft (12.2m). Thus, footprint = 2.43m x 6.06m = 14.7m^2

In addition to the above criteria, the following is required:

- Able to conform to commercial airline
baggage requirements (32kg)
- Aircon unit adaptable
- Lockable/securable
- Able to put-up with a small team
- Reusable
- Easy to move in-country
- Sturdy/resilient
- History of use in the field
