Description

1.8.01 - Kitchen Replacements & Rewire of Kitchens
Each year of the contract term the contractor is required to carry out the design and installation of approximately 500 domestic kitchens (inset sink, units, worktops, tiles, decorations) and rewire of the kitchen as per the specification at appendix 3. The properties requiring works will be in council owned properties managed by Landlord Services. The work will include arranging access, surveying the property, designing the kitchen layout and or locations of electrical sockets, obtain approval for the design from the Contract Administrator prior to commencement of any work. Works will be issued using the Schedule of rates (found at App 7) and subject to the tendered percentage adjustment.


1.8.02 - Rewires
This will be for the design and full rewire including consumer unit replacement as per the specification at Appendix 3 to houses or flats as and when required. This can be for occupied or empty Council owned domestic properties and for property where no Kitchen replacement is taking place. The work will include arranging access, surveying the property, designing the layout and or locations of electrical sockets. Approval must be obtained for the design from the Contract Administrator prior to commencement of any work. Works will be issued using the Schedule of rates (found at Appendix 7) and subject to the tendered percentage adjustment. The Rewire work will be on an ad hoc, as and when required basis and therefore there is no guarantee of the volume of this work.

The works required for both kitchen replacements and rewires are more specifically described in the Specification found at Appendix 3 and the schedule of rates document at Appendix 7.

1.8.03 - Kitchen / Wiring Improvement Works
There will be a requirement for some minor improvement works to some addresses that don't require a full new kitchen or full rewire. This will include the installation of new base/wall units &/or new worktops and part rewires. These will be on an adhoc basis & ordered using the Schedule of Rates at Appendix 7.
