Description

As a member of the Environment Agency Fisheries and Biodiversity team, we are looking to deliver 2 river and floodplain restoration projects. Both projects require excavation of floodplain soils in order to create the necessary channel alignment or to source river gravels. We are aware of the archaeological interest of the Kennet Valley and wish to employ an experienced archaeological consultant to deliver for both sites:

1. Archaeological Appraisal
2. Written Scheme of Investigation (WSI)
3. Outline price for proposed field work identified in task 2. This element to be formally added to contract as a compensation event.

Site locations: River Lambourn at Bagnor Estate and River Kennet at Kintbury

Project completion: 31 March 2024

Key Skills: Archaeological desk based assessments, planning field work, managing field work including Health and safety of construction activities.
