Description
Event title: World Gymnastics Championships Liverpool 2022 (WGC2022)
Event date: 29 October - 06 November 2022
Event location: M&S Bank Arena, Liverpool
The International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) awarded the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships to the UK for 2022 following a successful bid between Liverpool City Council, UK Sport and British Gymnastics. Liverpool City Council are the Local Organising Committee (LOC) for the Championships, working in partnership with a host of stakeholders.
Between 29 October and 6 November 2022, Liverpool will host the Championships at the M&S Bank Arena situated on the city's famous waterfront. At this Paris 2024 Olympic qualifying event, the world's greatest artistic gymnasts, from all corners of the world, will go head-to-head over nine action-packed days, competing for 72 medals across 14 events.
Liverpool 2022 will be one of the largest international sporting events to be held in the iconic city and represents the pinnacle of elite artistic gymnastics competition, attracting a substantial worldwide audience.
Liverpool is a place with a belief in the ability of major events to effect long-lasting change and an ambition to do so.
The LOC for the WGC2022 is undertaking a procurement exercise to identify and appoint an agency to deliver a wealth of creative digital content and campaigns, including supporting ideation and the development of innovative digital assets, with a multi-platform approach, which accurately meet the event's strategic objectives by capturing the imaginations of, and encouraging action of, the agreed target audiences. The activity will also;
? Place gymnasts at the heart,
? Showcase the sport of gymnastics to new audiences,
? Showcase the city of Liverpool as a global host and destination,
? Position the event as world-leading, innovative and ethically responsible.
Furthermore, the staging of the event will provide the Championships and its partners with opportunities to inspire communities through sport and this should be reflected in all communications.
