Description

The National Physical Laboratory (NPL) requirement is for two high-purity germanium gamma-ray spectrometers with an associated electro-cooling system. These detectors are intended to work in a gamma-gamma coincidence array for use in activity quantification and nuclear decay data experiments.

The two HPGe gamma-ray spectrometers are intended to be upgraded with a BGO Compton shield in the future and also may be required to work in a neutron environment, therefore an n-type crystal is required, and the preamplifier shall be mounted remotely.
