Description
The aim of this study is to review the opportunities in the bioeconomy for domestic agricultural biomass, with a focus on feedstock production and land use implications. This project will horizon scan and assess the emerging opportunities for UK farmers to engage with the bioeconomy via the domestic production of agricultural biomass. The bioeconomy extends to all non-food opportunities for crop biomass, including fuel, fibre, chemicals, renewable materials etc. The work will stimulate ideas for further research to maximise public goods from diversified production systems, and to highlight the opportunities with the greatest potential for sector growth potential and trade.
