Description

The HEE requires the provision of support to the specification and scope as outlined below.

Public Health and prevention is a key part of the Midlands & East Integrated Care Transformation programme that includes provision of Health Literacy engagement and training across Midlands and East, with development of "Train the Trainer" training and a Health Literacy Friendly Scheme. This comparative research is to gain an understanding of the impact of training in Health Literacy (HL) on the Allied Health Professionals and any associated change in their patient outcomes, in order to make recommendations on future training provision and provider engagement with Health Literacy.

This research will involve gathering baseline data on AHPs' knowledge and understanding of Health Literacy (HL), and then comparing the impact of training on AHPs' practice and patient outcomes at 3 and 6 months with those AHPs who have not received health literacy training.

This research is in line with our commitment to embed the principles of public health and prevention in the training of our workforce.
