Description
Smart Energy Systems Funding Landscape
The energy landscape is a complex place, consisting of multiple sub-sectors and different parts of the energy system. The barriers to innovation in one area will be different to another, so any intervention to help innovators overcome these hurdles must be tailored to suit. To understand these variations, particularly for Smart Energy innovations, it is essential to first know the funding landscape and how public support to date has aided the innovation process. By seeing how both public and private funding has stimulated development in Smart Energy, we can efficiently deploy resources to focus on specific areas of the smart energy landscape, target the barriers to commercialization and implement appropriate solutions.
The Energy Systems Catapult is looking for potential consultant to deliver collation of information on available funding, co-ordinate the data and derive outcomes which could complete the knowledge gaps, enhance visibility and help develop further opportunities. However the funding information in the UK has now been simplified due to InnovateUK and Governments push, but there are still gaps and still there is no collaborative mechanism to capture, share and establish the knowledge. The smart energy funding landscape will enhance the awareness and knowledge of the stakeholders to take better decisions on investment and targeted interventions to remove barriers, which leads to commercialization.
