Description
The Authority wishes to award a grant agreement for the construction and commissioning of infrastructure to deliver publicly available commercial 4G-LTE (A) coverage ("the Infrastructure Works") in areas within North Yorkshire where this provision does not exist.
North Yorkshire County Council (NYCC) is working to enable and accelerate the delivery of publicly available commercial 4G-LTE (A) mobile services throughout North Yorkshire (NY) through the development of the Mobile Infrastructure 4G Improvement Programme (the 'Programme').
The Authority has been awarded £1M worth of funding from the Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) to fund the Infrastructure Works for this programme and it is anticipated that up to an additional £3.5M worth of funding will be obtained through the LEP, Coastal Communities Fund (CCF) and others. It is anticipated that this funding will allow for masts to be built throughout North Yorkshire and six initial sites have been identified.
