Description

The Central Sterile Service Department currently utilises a range of non-standard equipment for the transportation of sterile and non-sterile instruments between the CSSD and clinical customers Trust-wide. To ensure the safe and compliant movement of surgical instruments, a number of replacement transportation trollies and dispatch boxes are required. Process improvements within the CSSD Washroom have also created an urgent requirement to replace a fixed height table with an adjustable height table, to protect Washroom staff against any risk from repetitive manual handling activities and to support the process improvements. The machines also provide an income for the Trust in the form of a rebate, which is sent to the Trust by the supplier.
