Description

The Council are looking to procure a new, integrated, Prevention and Early Intervention Service (PEIS) which will be a County wide, universal, service. It will deliver a service for every child and family in the county and will identify any problems at the earliest possible stage, treating, supporting or referring as appropriate. All interventions delivered by the service will be evidence based and professionally led.

In Worcestershire, as elsewhere, services for children and young people are operating in a rapidly changing operational and policy environment. The Council are working with partners locally to deliver changes required by the NHS plan, and those required by Ofsted in the context of social care and SEND inspections.

The Council are strengthening the approach to prevention at primary, secondary and tertiary levels, and the health and social care system places prevention, self-care and resilience at the heart of all our plans. The Council are committed to a strengths-based approach to individuals, families and communities.

Central to our improvement work and vision is a focus on prevention and early intervention to improve outcomes for our children, young people and families. Many of these outcomes are below national average and are not consistent with the strong County profiles for overall health and well-being and economic growth. The case for early intervention is strong and well understood locally.

Full details can be found in the documents provided. Please ensure all documentation is read in full.
