Description

St Oswald's Retirement Village is a large single block complex with 166 dwellings including 5 bungalows located separately but within the confinements of the scheme.

The scheme when opened in 2010 had a Spa Pool and Steam Room as part of the fitness and leisure offering for residents in the village. Unfortunately, these facilities fell into disrepair and were decommissioned several years ago.

The Village has a purpose-built room in which residents were in the past able to use the Spa Pool facility as well as access the Steam Room. There is a service tunnel that takes plumbing from a dedicated plant room to the Spa Pool and Steam Room. This tunnel has clearly been exposed to water in the past suggesting that the existing plumbing has failed. It has also been suggested that the Steam Room has in the past suffered from leaks. Potential contractors are invited to provide their thoughts and ideas around the best and most cost-effective way to achieve a return in these facilities to our customers.

Rooftop Housing is exploring the options available and would like interested suppliers to provide pricing and estimates of ongoing upkeep costs for both a new Spa Pool and the reinstatement of the Steam Room.
