Description

This contract is for the provision of an Alcohol Liaison Service (ALS) which will:

Provide assessment, advice and treatment service to patients at Pinderfields General Hospital aimed at but not limited to more dependent and problematic alcohol users. This includes the prescribing of medications for alcohol withdrawal or vitamin replacement.
Lead the introduction of a system of alcohol screening and brief intervention, treatment of acute alcohol withdrawal, development of NICE-based protocols for the management of alcohol misuse and the development/review of pathways within Pinderfields General Hospital.
The ALS will also oversee the development and delivery of alcohol training for nursing staff and medical staff within the hospital.
