Description

The work required is for the bi-annual repaint and minor refit of the FPV Saint Piran. The attached documents lay out some of the more general detail relevant to the necessary work to be carried out. Prospective providers will be required to accept the General Conditions and Form of Contract should their tender be successful.

PLEASE NOTE THAT DUE TO THE SIZE OF THE DOCUMENT CONCERNED (7MB) , THE MAIN SPECIFICATION DETAILS WILL NEED TO BE REQUESTED TO BE SENT UNDER SEPARATE COVER BY CONTACTING THE CHIEF OFFICER CONCERNED, FOR THIS OR ANY OTHER ASSOCIATED MATTERS, BY EMAIL, AS DETAILED BELOW.

The FPV Saint Piran has a length of 27.17m overall, a beam of 6.75m and a draft of 1.75m. The gross tonnage is 117.26 tonnes. She is built of aluminium, so allowances need to be made for that factor.

If you wish to tender for this work, please ensure the following conditions are satisfied; otherwise your documents are likely to be disqualified.

1. Your response is to be received at the PENZANCE Office address as below on or before 12.00 hrs on FRIDAY 5th FEBRUARY, 2016.

2. The documents are to be in a sealed plain A4 envelope, with "Refit 2016" printed (by hand or machine) at the top left hand side. There are to be no identifying signs/logos of your company on the envelope.

3. Your documents must include a clear breakdown of the relevant costs on a job by job basis, to permit us to examine best-value and value-added comparisons.

4. A signed and completed questionnaire is to be returned with your own documents ( as attached).

The successful provider will be required to permit full access to the vessel during normal working hours to our surveyor, engineers and subcontractors (if any).

The successful provider will be notified as soon as possible after the closing date, but will need to provide satisfactory evidence of its insurance cover, prior to a contract being agreed. Unsuccessful providers will also be informed as soon as possible after the closing date.

Please provide the date(s) you have available to do the work if successful, noting that the Easter Holiday period falls within the proposed service period. It is hoped that this work can be carried out as soon as possible.
