Description

Cornwall Council, the lead partner of the Cornwall Music Education Hub (CMEH) is seeking to contract a supplier to develop and lead its Vocal Strategy as outlined in the delivery plan approved by The Arts Council.

The contracted provider can be a self-employed individual, or a named individual from an organisation. The contract requires the development of a dynamic and joined up vocal strategy for Cornwall to ensure that every pupil has the chance to sing regularly and that inspiring vocal activities of all genres and styles (including choirs and other vocal ensembles) are available to all children and young people. The deliverer will also strive to elevate the quality of vocal activity across all genres of singing, including choral part singing, through training and resources.
2. Scope

• To ensure children at every Cornish school have the opportunity to participate in regular singing
• To encourage and support all schools in developing singing in their schools
• To promote and support the development of boys' singing and singing for the changing voice
• To link in with regional choirs for both boys and girls
• To identify and develop intergenerational vocal opportunities
• To link in with the CMEH County Choirs
• To provide training to school staff to embed singing as a cross-curricular tool and develop supporting resources.
• To plan and deliver a minimum of 3 large community events per year to provide performance opportunities for choirs
• To provide the minimum of 2 opportunities per year for young singers to work with professional singers of different styles
• To plan and deliver CPD through regional termly network meetings and a minimum of one annual training event for teachers and singing leaders
• To identify additional CPD opportunities through links with national partners to elevate the quality of choral direction
• To build links with local community vocal groups
• To work with partners on developing the role of young vocal leaders
