Description
The University of Plymouth will be looking to acquire a Thermal Analysis suite to service teaching and research in materials characterisation (ceramics, metals, polymers and composites), food science and chemistry. The core equipment would include:
• DTA (Differential Thermal Analysis)/DSC (Differential
Scanning Calorimetry),
• TGA (ThermoGravimetric Analysis)/DTG (Differential
ThermoGravimetry), with capability for TPO (Temperature
programmed oxidation) and TPR (Temperature programmed
reduction),
• Dilatometry/TMA (Thermo-Mechanical Analysis),
• DMTA (Dynamic Mechanical Thermal Analysis) at a scale to
permit the determination of the effect of composite
mesostructures,
• Appropriate balances and preparation equipment
