Description

This project will bring unoccupied areas within the iconic 1930's art-deco former fire station campus in Rochdale into active use as flexible co-working office space primarily aimed at SME's operating in the digital, creative and technology sectors.

The first floor of the old Rochdale Fire Station has been converted into a co-working facility to house up to 100 occupiers, with a range of private offices, dedicated desks and hot desks. This will provide a working environment by people who will be generally self-employed or working for a variety of different employers who will share space, equipment, ideas, and knowledge.

The existing Richard Street buildings to the rear of the Fire Station will be converted into workshops, artist studios, content creation spaces and offices, creating further opportunities for a diverse community of small businesses to grow. It will create a new digital hub, creative workshop and cultural destination.

On the ground floor, the new FIREGROUND museum tells Greater Manchester's firefighting story. As part of the social value requirement, bidders have the opportunity to assist the museum trust (a registered charity) in managing their IT and networking provision.

If you are interested in tendering for this opportunity then please do so via The Chest North West Procurement Portal, you will need to register your interest in the project to access the tender documents. Please note there is a requirement to submit social value via The Social Value Portal as part of your bid submission for this opportunity.
