Description

The University of Warwick, Warwick manufacturing Group, has a requirement for an Induction Heating System specifically suitable for the curing of adhesives in composite-composite and composite-metal joints.

Applicability to creating multi-material automotive body structures including aluminium alloys, steel and fibre reinforced composites is an important consideration. This may include both localised heating to cure adhesives but also heating for fusion joining (for example thermoplastic composite joints). Therefore, flexibility of the proposed induction system is important.
