****This has been awarded to Urbed, 8-10 Little Lever St, Manchester M1 1HR***The purpose of this study is to consider the capacity for growth in the NGDZ and to strategically consider options for the potential for expansion and/ or consolidation of existing settlements and/ or opportunities for new settlements (including a blended approach) for realising the real potential through development and associated place - making principles, to develop the detail of the NDGZ Growth Strategy.
The NGDZ is proposing the development of 100,000 homes and 120,000 jobs in the area. The Spatial Opportunities and Housing Growth study will look at how and where this should happen.
The partnership is seeking a strategy that identifies deliverable, sustainable growth in line with the target numbers identified, whilst catalysing the housing market in urban areas.
