Description

Consultancy services - Study to consider the growth potential and infrastructure requirements for the A1 Corridor.

This study is being jointly commissioned by Central Bedfordshire Council and Bedford Borough Council. (the Commissioning Authorities).

The Commissioning Authorities are seeking, through this commission, to consider the capacity, constraints and opportunities of the existing A1 corridor. The constraints include utilities, landscape, heritage, local and national designations as well as existing problems at identified hotspots (e.g. existing at-grade roundabouts) and how these may be resolved through an upgrade/ realignment of the existing A1 route (to motorway standards) and the delivery of supporting infrastructure to help realise Government's ambition for the Oxford to Cambridge corridor. It is critical that this study also acknowledges the delivery of cohesive and fully sustainable growth that meets the needs of existing and future communities and the economy.

Help and Support - The Council will provide as much support and information as it can in order to help guide you through the Tender process. Questions asked together with the Council's response will be made available to all tenderers to ensure a fair and consistent approach to all.

If there is anything you are not sure of or need clarification on, please contact us using the Correspondence facility on the In-tend portal.

Last date for receiving questions on In-Tend system is 12:00 Noon 19th February 2019.

Return of Tender - Completed Tenders and attachments should be submitted electronically, by the due date via our "In-tend" electronic tendering system. Tenders must be uploaded via the "My Return" section of the system. Tenders submitted through the correspondence facility will not be considered.

Your Tender must be submitted via the In-Tend system by no later than 12:00 noon on 22nd February. Tenders received after that time will be excluded.
