Description

The aim of the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) bid is targeted at the enhancement and conservation of Victoria Park and is focused on ensuring the legacy of Stafford's flagship formal Park for future generations. The project will see the enhancement of an historic park in Stafford Town Centre which will provide an important visitor attraction for residents and visitors alike.

* The scope of the construction and landscaping works is as follows:
* Restore the Grade II Mottram Shelter
* Refurbish the existing toilet block and reconfigure to provide office accommodation
* Refurbish the greenhouse to include butterfly and reptile collection and install interpretation
* Remove refreshment kiosk and relocate sensory garden to return area to original historic layout
* Building Café with covered seating area and performance space
* Expand riverside seating area
* Refurbish the bandstand and enhance surrounding area
* Demolish the aviary and rebuild as two smaller aviaries in new location
* Demolish Maintenance Block and replace with a single storey timber-clad Training/Education Centre with working greenhouse
* Create a new Maintenance Depot area
* Improve entrances, upgrade footpaths, hard and soft landscaping, and undertake tree works to open up views
* New bridge connection to the catering facility
