Description

The Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Region of Learning (CPRoL) is a Covid-19 response project to address entrenched barriers to skills development, civic engagement, and employment opportunities for all children and young people, targeting those most at risk of poor life outcomes and furthest from the labour market (aged 15 to 24 years).
The current and next generation of workers face a challenge of an unprecedented scale, and requires a solution that utilises innovative technologies, and a strategic use of digital channels and platforms to support agility of delivery on a population scale, complemented by more targeted one-to-one support where needed.
Cambridge City Council is the lead partner in a project that has developed a bold solution to meet the scale of the challenge posed by Covid-19 upon young people, delivered through a smart, universal passport to learning, skills and opportunity. CPRoL will provide a unified, place-based approach to improving skills and career outcomes, particularly for those with low social mobility. It engages leadership at a local level, connects existing networks of employers, formal and non-formal learning, and a technology platform that uses data from these providers to create digital pathways to more inclusive employment.
