Description

Spelthorne Borough Council intends to build a new Leisure Centre which will wholeheartedly support the delivery of its leisure and culture strategy. The project aims to create a community sports and fitness destination, key to improving the health and wellbeing of our community.
The proposed leisure centre incorporates an 8-lane, 25m main pool, learner pool, splash pad, spa, a 6-court sports hall, 3 squash courts and multi-use room which combines to create 2 further badminton courts, a café/reception space, soft play, climbing area, 950sqm of fitness space, 2 studios, 1 spin studio, 4 small sided 3G roof pitches, roof terrace and supporting/ancillary spaces.
The Council and its project team are looking to achieve the key project deliverable of the first wet and dry side Passivhaus-certified leisure facility. Passivhaus methodology has become the world leading standard in energy efficient design and construction.
