Description

Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust currently has a requirement for a person to undertake the role of Authorising Engineer (Ventilation) (AE(V)) as defined in Health Technical Memorandum 03-01: Specialised ventilation for healthcare premises. Part B - Operational management (hereafter referred to as HTM 03-01 part B) viz:
The AE(V) is defined as a person designated by Management to provide independent auditing and advice on ventilation systems and to review and witness documentation on validation.

You are advised that work may be undertaken in an operational area.

Objectives of this contract are to:
• Advise on the Trust's compliance with the arrangements set out in HTM 03-01 parts A and B and identify any shortfalls.
• Ensure the contractor effectively carries out the role and responsibilities of the AE(V).
• Identify any potential areas for innovation, cost saving, improvement and upgrade.
• As the contract develops, build a relationship with the contractor, including the contractor gaining site knowledge.

AE (V) services as a result of installation capital schemes and planned upgrades may be required as part of the contract.

There is no commitment to spend under this contract.

Further details as to plant and equipment at CRH intend to be covered by this contract are given at 'current plant details' below, but are summarised:
• Critical systems at present number approximately 46 systems including 5 Ultra Clean and 7 conventional operating theatre suites, it should be noted that a full theatre refurbishment program started in 2013. The remaining systems serve a variety of specialised patient treatment facilities around the site.
• The majority of AHUs are located in internal plant rooms, with the exception of three external units and birth centre AHUs which are in the ceiling voids of the rooms. A permit to work system is in place on all specialised ventilation systems.
• It should be noted at present that Phase one theatres (theatres 1 to 8) are paired with a common extracts.
