Description

This project is funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund is a central pillar of the UK government's Levelling Up agenda and provides £2.6 billion of funding for local investment by March 2025. The Fund aims to improve pride in place and increase life chances across the UK investing in communities and place, supporting local business, and people and skills. For more information, visit https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/uk-shared-prosperity-fund-prospectus
We know that South Cambridgeshire ranks poorly amongst local authorities in terms of accessible greenspace (see the 2022 Legatum UK Prosperity Index) and projects such as Cambridgeshire Future Parks has sought to address this issue. It is also in alignment with SCDC's Health and Wellbeing Strategy, our Doubling Nature commitment, and Zero Carbon Strategy.

This project aligns with the UK SPF overarching investment priority of Community and Place and is aligned with Intervention E3; Creation of and improvements to local green spaces, community gardens, watercourses and embankments, along with incorporating natural features into wider public spaces.

The Council seeks a contractor, possibly a landscape architecture consultancy with community experience or similar expertise to undertake research, organise Communication and Community involvement, and support Delivery of Community green spaces.
