Description

Colchester Borough Council relocated Colchester Market to the High Street in April 2015. Colchester Market is a twice weekly Charter Market, however there is an additional ambition to hold a variety of themed markets in the town.

We would like to explore this further and would like to have informal discussions with potential suppliers of themed markets with a view to gaining:

· A better understanding of what types of themed market are available and which may be interested in coming to Colchester

· Understanding how themed markets work in terms of business models

· How they operate

· What kinds of contract are required

· The demand for these markets in terms of footfall in other places

· How and where charges apply

· Risks

· Opportunities

· Benefits

This is an exploratory research project, which we are looking to complete by the end of November which may lead to procurement of services at some point in future.
