Description

Shane Carr Ltd wish to procure modular components for a project that will potentially be part-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) through the Marine-I Challenge Fund.
The specific components required are:
1. 68 No. steel spheres of 132mm diameter manufactured from solid of 114.3mm to 66mm over a length of 80mm. These cones are to be welded to the tube using the chosen company's standard laser welding production method for which there is evidence of regular use for at least 12 years. The cones are to hold captive M27 grade 10.9 special bolts with round heads and a 5mm diameter dowel pin. The bolts will screw into the steel spheres by means of hexagonal steel sleeves measuring 41mm across the flats and 45mm long. In addition the cones shall be provided with drain holes and a grub screw locking device to stop rotation of the tubes in the final assembly. All components shall be galvanized to provide durability in marine conditions. Every steel tube assembly shall measure 3189mm overall from the ends of the sleeves within an accuracy of +/- 0.5mm shall be load tested in the factory to prove a tension capacity of at least 316.3kN. Load test certification is required.

The manufacturer of the components must be able to demonstrate their experience of manufacturing such products, and provide evidence of 3 projects where similar sized components are still satisfactory after 12 years that have undergone cyclic loading conditions and severe environmental conditions.

All details described above are critical to ensure sufficient strength under repeated load cycles and the dimensions are critical to ensure clearance in the assembly and use of the components.

All suppliers are to return quotes and supporting information by post or email by 1pm on 31st June 2018. Your application must include the following:
1. Confirmation that you the supplier are able to meet the requirements outlined in the brief above.
2. Conflict of Interest Statement as outlined in section 6 above
3. Date of Tender Return
4. Reference: MiCF 113 Shane Carr Ltd - TR003
5. Details of who to contact in your company in relation to this tender
6. Your Company Registration Number.
7. Your VAT number (if appropriate).
8. Examples of 3 projects that meet the specification in section 2.
9. Total cost of providing the goods/services requested, including VAT and excluding VAT, with a breakdown to specifically include items 1 and 2 listed in section 2 above.
