Description

Our Walsall Right 4 Children (WR4C) vision launched in September sets out our commitment to ensure that all children have the best possible start and are safe from harm, happy and learning.

Our Right 4 Children transformation programme is focusing on developing effective services to enable is to reduce the circumstances which lead to children requiring statutory intervention whether this is related to the need to protect a child, getting a child back into full-time education or preventing a child re-offending.

The current care placement market alongside existing approaches to place children in traditional care settings, away from their families doesn't not always support children and their families to be their best.

As a Local Authority we recognise that we do not have all the solutions and want to work and learn with our partners to develop sustainable and affordable support for our families.

Our approach is very much one of co-production: making a shift away from more transactional relationships, to one where we co-produce and collaborate in the spirit of mutual respect, honesty and responsiveness. We wish to involve our providers at the earliest opportunity to achieve these outcomes and do this through the development of a dynamic commissioning framework.

With this in mind we would like to invite you to a breakfast conversation on the 11th February at 9.00am at the Education Development Centre so we can start a conversation about what we could do differently and how we can develop a dynamic commissioning framework that allows us to better support our families.

The Breakfast meeting will provide an opportunity to
- Inform you of our Walsall Right 4 Children vision and programme
- Explore opportunities for partnership working
- Explore ideas around the development of a dynamic commissioning framework to support children at risk of coming into care.
