Description

The Trust requires five hundred (500) takeaway meals per day, seven (7) days a week, including Bank Holidays, for staff to re-heat at home or during their night shift. Seventy percent (70%) of meals should be meat-based and meat must be Halal. Thirty percent (30%) of meals must be vegetarian. There must be dairy-free and gluten-free options included in both options. Each container of food must provide a "home cooked" feel and the contents support satiation and satiety considering most staff will be working 12 hour shifts. Each meal must be individually packaged - one meal for one person. The packaging for each meal must be substantial enough that it can be transported e.g. home or to a ward area and suitable for re-heating in a microwave (no decanting required). Each meal must be properly labelled with a list of ingredients and instructions such as use-by dates, allergen information, storage guidelines and re-heating instructions. Meals must be delivered at 17:00 each day in a refrigerated vehicle and all relevant documentation supplied and signed for.
