Description

MEADOW PARK PHASE 2 - pre procurement market engagement day 26th October 2pm. Attendance can be in person in Borehamwood or via Teams. To register attendance please express interest in the project on www.supplyhertfordshire.uk and contract us via the correspondence function and we will send the joining details.

Meadow Park, Brook Road, Borehamwood, Hertfordshire.
A project to deliver further improvements to Meadow Park in Borehamwood, following improvements to the path network and play areas delivered in phase 1 in 2018. The work consists of creation of the splash park, construction of the caf?/kiosk and toilets, remodelling of the car park, creation of the entrance avenue to the park and installation of additional CCTV.
This work can be split up into the following lots which may be delivered by one or more contractors;-
1. Installation of 195m2 splash park with a brush concrete finish to provide a non-slip non-abrasive surface and over 20 water jets/fountains play features.
2. The erection of a caf? (internal seating capacity of 40) or a kiosk (serving hatch with external seating only) complete with 3 integrated fully accessible public toilets.
3. Remodelling of the car park (currently 3824 m2) to utilise part of the former bowling green and surrounding available space to create north (3815 m2) and south (2014 m2) car parks to provide 184 standard bays and 11 disabled bays. The introduction of electric vehicle charging in the car park will also be facilitated with ducting to enable future provision if required.
4. Creation of a 2722m2 entrance avenue to the park landscaped with raised planter, seating, wildflower meadows, shrub planting, lighting and trees. Additional landscaping along the frontage of the park and sensitive boundary treatment with the adjoining properties.
Upgrade of CCTV provision including replacement cameras (which will be done by the Councils CCTV service providers), relocation of 1 existing pole and installation of 1 new additional pole, with associated trenching, ducting and cabling / fibre optics.
The proposed development plan is aimed at increasing the amenity, visibility and accessibility of the park, reflecting its increased strategic importance. While centrally located the main frontage of the park at Brook Road is currently masked by the car park. An important element of the plan is to remodel the car park and create an avenue entrance to the park that clearly marks it and signposts its significance. The avenue will lead users into the park toward the interactive sport and play areas, the new performance area and sports and other activities. The avenue itself will be a space that can be used to support events and activities. The remodelling requires the removal of the existing changing rooms and the creation of a kiosk/caf? and public toilet to support the increased use of the park from a new Splash Park alongside the already delivered play areas, sports courts and fitnes...
