Refurbishment Works at West Bromwich Indoor Market Hall, Kings Square, West Bromwich, West Midlands. B70 7NW
Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified building contractors/refrigeration companies for refurbishment and building works at West Bromwich Indoor Market Hall, Kings Square, West Bromwich.
Scope of Contracts is as follows:
Contract 1
• Removal and disposal of existing timber framed structures that currently form traders storage lock ups.
• Construction of new concrete block walls to form new traders storage lock ups
• Provide and install new rodent proof manually operated roller shutters to each newly formed storage lock ups
• Install new light fitting to each storage area
• Provide and install new smoke detection to corridor space
Contract 2
• Decommission, dismantle and disposal of three existing coldrooms, retaining refrigeration equipment as required
• Supply and install new twin coldroom to specification with new or new/salvaged refrigeration equipment
The quotation documents will include schedules of work, drawings and specifications
Expressions of interest are sought from applicants who wish to be considered for either or both of the above contracts so please indicate this within your expression of interest return. All applicants must meet the following pass/fail criteria;
• Constructionline registered companies only
• Constructionline contracted minimum value of £40,000
• Constructionline registered for Building General and or Building Refurbishment over £15,000 categories
• Membership of recognised SSIP scheme
• Public Liability Insurance level of £5 million
• Employers Liability Insurance level of £10 million
• Asbestos awareness certified
• Details of any Prohibitions/Improvement notices
• Details of any RIDDOR referrals
The required number of bidders for each contract will be restricted to five. All applicants should provide their Constructionline registration number. All applications will be checked to ensure they meet the above criteria. Should more than five suitably applications be received, the Council will select a random choice to be issued a tender document. Should fewer than five applications be received the Council will pick a random selection from the Constructionline database to fulfil tendering requirements.
