Contract summary
Location of contract: Swindon and Shrivenham
Description
This notice is placed as a Prior Information Notice, and relates only to a pre-procurement market engagement event. NHS Swindon Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and Swindon Borough Council are commissioners of health and social care services, jointly responsible for commissioning the majority of health and social care services in Swindon. Services are currently purchased from an acute trust and a social enterprise.
The Commissioners are considering going out to formal procurement for Integrated Adult Community Health and Social Care Services, and to help develop plans are now holding a pre-procurement market engagement and information event.
The commissioners wish to procure community health and the majority of social care assessment and review services for older people and those with a long term condition.
There are a range of social care community services such as two older people care homes with discharge to assess and reablement beds, two day services for older people, wheelchair and community equipment services, autism diagnosis and a range of learning disability community services.
The total budget for all community and social care services is
- Community health services £17m
- Adult social care approx.£ 8m
Commissioners are also considering future commissioning of domiciliary care and reablement and master vendor status for residential and nursing for all older people which account for a further estimated £10m net budget. This does not include care packages for people with a learning disability
The purpose of the event will be to:
• Raise awareness amongst the provider market of the Commissioners' re-commissioning intentions.
• Provide further details of services that may be included and outcomes to be achieved
• Give organisations the opportunity to start building the resources and the strategic relationships required to bid successfully for the services.
• Engage with the provider market at the pre specification-writing stage.
• Help to determine the most appropriate course of action for the Commissioners
The event is being held at a formative stage of the re-commissioning programme. The event will also be the networking opportunity for providers to meet with other interested parties. The project team will provide information on the commissioners' general proposed approach.
The half day market engagement event will be held in Swindon at 1.30 to 4.30pm at Steam Museum of the Great Western Railway (SN2 2EY) on 29 July 2015 . To book a place please contact the Buyer.
Following the event, you will have the opportunity to meet with Commissioners on a one to one basis over the summer for more focused discussion.
