Southend on See Borough Council is seeking to engage with Providers to gain an understanding of the capacity and appetite in the market to deliver Alternative Provision within the borough.
Alternative Provision (AP) is:
'education arranged by local authorities for pupils who, because of exclusion, illness or other reasons, would not otherwise receive suitable education; education arranged by schools for pupils on a fixed period exclusion; and pupils being directed by schools to off-site provision to improve their behaviour.'
The purpose of this Engagement Workshop is to:
• Engage with Stakeholders on the vision for the future service model and provision of three key elements of Alternative Education from September 2020:
o Outreach for Inclusion Support Service
o Nurture and Assessment Centre
o Interim Tuition Service (to include use of AV1 robots)
• Inform Education Providers of the procurement approach and timeframe
