Description

Experienced ground works contractors required to carry out works to create a wetland nature reserve at Brearley Fields, Mytholmroyd, area approx. 4 hectares of flat flood plain. Main elements: -installation of permanent post and wire boundary fencing around the wetlands area -excavation of ponds and scrapes, and the deposition of fill material within the site, includes lowering sections of existing river embankment ensuring environmental protection at all times -ponds will be lined with puddled clay excavated from an identified source on site -removal of existing site drainage features and construction of drainage modifications are associated with construction of the new ponds -also includes construction of a pedestrian path along the base of the canal embankment and associated minor works to improve access into the site -the site should be reinstated by replacing topsoil / subsoil and vegetation stripped from the work areas
