Description

Under the Refuse Disposal (Amenity) Act 1978 and the Clean Neighbourhood and Environment Act 2005 the Authority has a responsibility to collect abandoned vehicles within its administrative area. Therefore the Authority is looking to re-tender a Contract to continue to provide this Abandoned Vehicle Service.

The Service is required to cover the following:
i. Collection of abandoned vehicles, including burnt out vehicles from within Torbay's administrative boundary
ii. Storage and disposal of vehicles collected
iii. Removal of vehicles from the highway for other activity
iv. Removal and storage of vehicles parked on harbour land causing difficulty
