Description

Requirement:

1.Nucleic acids extraction robot.

The proposed solution is required to:
• Extract nucleic acids from homogenised tissue in a high throughput way, reducing laboratory technician time and the health and safety implications of chemicals used in standard extraction methods.
•Must be able to independently process 1 to 48 samples at a time and have a suitable system to record informatically the samples information.
•Provide an extraction process that should not take longer than one hour in order to maintain nucleic acid stability.
•Operate by nucleic acids binding beads rather than using liquid handling to avoid contaminations.
•Be able to extract nucleic acids from difficult sample types as shrimps hepatopancreas, filtered water, gills.
•Measure the nucleic acid concentration by fluorescence at the end of the extraction (or to be connected to a quantification device) and record the concentration.
•Provide additional samples holders in order to enable the operator to start preparing a new batch of samples while the robot is running.
