Description

NHS South of England Procurement Services, acting on behalf of Health Education England (the Commissioner) will be commencing a tender for the delivery of a Wessex Public Health Practitioner Development Programme. This Prior Information Notice (PIN) is to advise prospective providers of the Commissioners intention to go out to procurement.

The Public Health Practitioner (PHP) programme is a professional development programme which allows individuals working in public health to become a registered Practitioner with the UKPHR. Public Health Practitioner registration is at a minimum of Level 5 of the Health Careers Framework which is entry level registration in public health. The Public Health Practitioner Schemes are delivered as local schemes within specific geographic areas.

The Wessex scheme is funded by Health Education England - Wessex and is managed and delivered by the Wessex School of Public Health. The Wessex region covers Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Dorset and Salisbury. The scheme was established in 2010 and since then has supported over 100 practitioners to work towards professional registration.

The Wessex support programme is a fundamental aspect of the public health practitioner scheme which enables individuals to develop their portfolio for registration. Following the independent evaluation of the scheme, learning from this has informed the development of this specification.

The commissioner reserves the right not to proceed with the Procurement, or any part thereof, or change the requirements and timescales as necessary at any time.

It is the intention of the commissioner that the procurement will be conducted as on OJEU Service Contract using an Open Procedure under the Public Contracts Regulations 2015. The ITT is expected to be published during week commencing 12th February 2018.

A separate advert will be released advising when the procurement is live for submissions. Once this advert has been released all ITT documents, including the Specification will be available.
