Description

Birmingham City Council provides a range of accredited and non-accredited programmes at entry level, level 1 and level 2 through the Birmingham Adult Education Service (BAES). The purpose of these programmes is to improve learners' employment prospects and their wellbeing through the development of appropriate skills, health and well-being, and social and community cohesion services.

To support BAES's journey to improve teaching, learning and assessment we are looking to engage a company who can provide a team of experienced staff to carry out audits of teaching, learning and assessment to identify impact on learner progress. Ideally they should have knowledge of the new Ofsted audit process for teaching, learning and assessment. . Staff will carry out 3 audits per day each jointly with BAES staff, to include scrutiny of learners' starting points, aspirations, targets and records of progress, the extent to which learners' individual needs are met, observation of TLA in the classroom, learner work scrutiny and conversations with learners. Each audit is expected to take one and a half hours and each tutor should receive at least 30 minutes of coaching-style feedback, along with a developmental action plan.
