Description
The City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council faces significant budget pressures, but has ambitions to use culture to drive regeneration through increased tourism, improved perceptions of the local area, and to improve well being through increased engagement with culture. The current service budget for 2017/18 is net £2,143,300 and attracts over 212,000 visitors per years from all around the world. In order to achieve these complex dual aims of reducing costs whilst delivering our ambitions, we need to redesign the museums and galleries service. The Council is seeking a consultant to provide an external and independent review of current activity and performance and to identify options that reflects the financial position of the service in 2020. The outputs will be in the form of a written options appraisal with recommendations (and presentation) for the future of the Bradford Museums and Galleries Service beyond 2020.
