Description

Historic England currently operates using a defense-in-depth model for network and device security. We have determined that we have gaps in the coverage in that we do not run a zero-day anti-malware service for end-user devices and servers. The anti-virus product that we use may provide insufficient protection against evolving variants and zero-day threats. We are not planning on removing or changing the existing anti-virus product, but are seeking a complimentary solution to plug this gap.

We have therefore resolved to tender for, and purchase an anti-malware service as detailed below. It is expected that this anti-malware service will be in conformity to our general strategy of cloud-first provision.

We currently use Microsoft System Centre Endpoint Protection as our anti-virus solution and the new anti-malware service must operate cleanly and in concert with the existing anti-virus service.
