Description

The service specification outlines the requirements for Housing Related Fixed Support for vulnerable young people who require fixed support within supported accommodation supplied by the provider, such as a foyer or self-contained flats.

It is expected that the service provider(s) will ensure that the young person or family receive appropriate support to build a rounded level of tenancy management skills, moving the young person towards their own accommodation after a period of evidencing the capacity to live independently.

WCF anticipate that through regular support with the young people, the service provider(s) would be able to address issues such as employment, training and education, financial and debt management, substance misuse, mental health, emotional health and wellbeing and identity. There is also an expectation that the service provider(s) will work in partnership with the young people and any involved professional to access community resources and/or specialist treatment services where necessary.

It is not a requirement for any one provider to have resources in all the Worcestershire district areas as there could be a multi-agency provider approach to service provision.

WCF will only be funding the support element to the contract and, therefore, will not be liable to fund the rent aspect of the accommodation. This will be covered by Housing Benefits or the young person funding it themselves.
