Description

There is a comprehensive network of tarmac paths around Mote Park, Maidstone, a Grade II Listed Park. However, in the winter months one well used path regularly floods and there is no convenient diversion. This project includes the raising of the level of the footpath near the Cheshire Road bridge, the installation of drainage and the resurfacing of the tarmac footpath.
Maidstone Borough Council wish to appoint a suitably experienced and competent contractor to raise the level of the existing path and complete the necessary drainage and resurfacing works.
Mote Park is Maidstone's premier destination park situated about one kilometre from the town centre. The historic park is overlooked by Mote House and is the venue for many events large and small. It offers a café and toilets (currently under redevelopment) three children's play areas, an Adventure Zone, miniature railway, sports pitches and acres of open grass and woodland. The lake, fed by the River Len, is the base for the Mote Park Water Sports Centre and Cygnets Model Boat Club and is one of Maidstone Victory Angling Societies waters.
