Description
The Department of Education requires a suitably experienced Contractor to express their interest to tender for the on Brambles Primary Academy Site.
The 560 sqm. (total) of temporary portable units will provide accommodation for Discovery Special Academy, ran by Tees Valley Education Trust (TVET) and based, temporarily on the Brambles Primary Academy. The Academy will open in September 2019, with an intake of 12 SEN pupils, aged 4 -11. A further 12 pupils will start at the school in September 2020. A total of 24 pupils.
The Contractor will be procured on a single stage basis, with the contract to be a JCT IFC with DfE amends. The contract will include the design and delivery of a temporary accommodation facility, compromising of 5 classrooms, 1 large EYFS classroom/Hall, care facilities (Hygiene Rooms x 3), FF&E, car-parking for 11nr vehicles, external play hardstanding and fencing. A planning application was submitted in March 2019 for the project Reference PP-07699034 / Middlesbrough 09/0198/FUL.
Planned decision date for approval 22/05/19.
The facilities need to be compete for the Academy to open at the start of September 19. Phasing / delivery of the portable unit accommodation for 12 pupils in September 19 and 12 pupils in September 2020 is anticipated, with indicative phasing identified in the ITT.
Appointment of contractor will be on the basis of the criteria to be published in the tender documents, and the contract will be awarded on the basis of the following split: Qualitative assessment 30% / Quantitative assessment 70%.
