Description

NOTE: This notice was updated on 30 July 2018 for the following reason: Deadline for tender submission has been extended to 12:00hrs (BST) 08/08/2018.The Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) invites bids for research analysis on the levels of advertising to children of High Fat, Salt or Sugar (HFSS) products and brands on broadcast media and online, as defined by the Nutrient Profile Model and categories identified in the Public Health England (PHE) sugar and calorie reduction programmes, the associated revenues and the likely impact of further restrictions on both levels of exposure and commercial revenues.

The requirement is to undertake research and deliver a dataset on HFSS advertising on broadcast television and online. The requirement is to procure for a single time-limited exercise, to run from August to December 2018. The research will form an input into a government consultation due by the end of 2018. As part of the consultation process, it is envisaged that findings will be published.

This will include:

a. Developing a baseline of children's exposure HFSS advertising in the UK. Including a detailed breakdown of 2017 data for broadcast television and online.

b. Using this baseline data to model different HFSS restriction parameters to understand their impact on children's exposure, broadcasters and the advertising market.
