Description
As part of the school places planning and schools basic need programme, it was identified that Shortlanesend School required to expand due to the new housing estate and increased local demand. In addition to the school age pupils, a need was identified for Nursery provision, which is included in the proposed scheme. Cornwall Council and the MWJV have submitted a planning application for the scheme as PA20/10791 https://planning.cornwall.gov.uk/online-applications/applicationDetails.do?keyVal=QKTHLGFGM4O00&activeTab=summary
The Council seeks to appoint a suitably accredited and demonstrably experienced Principal Contractor to undertake the design and construction of the Shortlanesend School - Basic Need Expansion under an NEC 3 Engineering & Construction Contract (Option A) with secondary options and z clauses as set out in the procurement documents.
The construction works shall comprise of site works including site access, earthworks, enabling works, statutory services connections to existing, landscaping and drainage. And construction of the building comprising of 2 classrooms and a nursery with under croft and be operational handover. Further details can be found in the works information.
