Description

British Army Training Support Unit Belize is located within Price Barracks. Much of the existing infrastructure dates from the 1960s. To meet mandated statutory and safety standards it must be kept safe to use, in compliance with UK/EU and international legislation as far as is reasonably practical. Many assets are showing signs of failing and have reached the end of their useful life. A life cycle replacement programme has been identified to upgrade facilities. Initial tranche of works will include the following lots:

1. Water Treatment & Distribution
This work will involve the replacement of existing water treatment equipment, water distribution and storage infrastructure, with a new system to service UK real estate. This will include
A packaged PPU.
Water storage for 72 hours supply for approximately 2,000 personnel.
A mixture of separate & combined water and firefighting mains to service UK areas on Price Barracks.
Connection to all UK buildings from the new ring main.
Disconnection and decommissioning of unused elements of the existing main.
Decommissioning of the existing storage tanks, treatment and pumping system (not demolish).
Replacement of existing sand filtration with a packaged WTU (with a basic robust low maintenance solution).

2. New stores building & Welfare building refurbishment
New stores building: The works will involve the demolition of existing stores buildings and formation of a new steel portal frame warehouse. To include:
Dismantling and removal of existing store building.
Construction of replacement store building with mezzanine deck with an approx area of 700m2.
Steel portal frame with masonry infill panels to approximately 2.4m and profile clad sheeting
Provision of vehicle access to each gable end, incl manually operated roller shutters
Internal office space for 5nr people
Building to be furnished with small power and lighting, c/w circulation fans and split unit AC to office space.

Welfare building refurbishment: The works will involve both internal and external refurbishment works to an existing 690m2 single storey building. To include:
Replacement roof covering
Sundry structural alterations
Refurbishment of existing ablutions c/w replacement of all sanitary ware, etc
Refurbish bar area to include provision of securable shuttering
New internal concertina partition
Replace all existing timber doors with suitably rated proprietary fire doors.
Replace timber window shutters and window units.
Replacement floor coverings
Redecorate all internals and externals.
Rewire building c/w compliant fire alarm installation.

Bidders may bid for individual lots or for both.
